Born in 1977 out of one of surf cinema’s most iconic films, ‘Big Wednesday’, the Bear Surfboards brand represents the inspirational landscape and lifestyle that was the Malibu surf scene in the 1960s and 70s when “boards were made of wood and men were made of iron”. First shaped by Kauai shaping icon Billy Hamilton, then joined by the North Shore’s Randy Rarick, the Bear reputation for quality and excellence quickly grew until the Bear name was worldwide.
